Designed for 7.1 - 10.0 mm double and twin ropes, the Giga Jul is particularly lightweight yet robust and abrasion-resistant. This is achieved through its intelligent hybrid design - the main body is made from ultra-light aluminum, while the friction channels and other wear-prone areas are reinforced with durable stainless steel.

The Giga Jul offers two distinct modes of operation. In guide mode, it provides simple and rapid abseiling, comfortable belaying from a station using a doubled rope, and a brake boost for catching leader falls. By holding the device in the "open" position with the thumb, the rope can be paid out faster in this assisted braking guide mode.

Transitioning the green slider instantly transforms the Giga Jul from an assisted braking tuber into a standard tuber. An additional small eyelet allows the device to be easily unlocked from the second climber's carabiner when bringing them up.
